Dennis...

...well unfortunately Dennis died last month. Although we were very upset at the time we realise he had a very happy long life (18 years) and he spent his last day in the garden sunning himself.
Everyone who came to the house met him - whether they wanted to or not; he was very friendly. So here are a last few photos of him looking like the fat happy orange cat that he was...

Sorry to hear about Dennis. But as a cat, who could ask for more than a comfortable home where you could sleep in the sun all day - bliss :)

Just catching up. I'm sorry for your loss Sarah. Pets are so very special. Our Shadow is 16 now, partially blind and deaf but otherwise still healthy. I keep telling myself to get used to the idea that he doesn't have many years left. I'm glad your kitty had such a good long life, and that you have so many happy memories of your time together.

At long last ......

At long last it's finished. My first large (96 x 78 inches) quilt. I'm really pleased with the pieced binding. It took a while to finish off - but I really like it. I've still got a bit of tidying up and I need to add a label - but the hard slog is finished. So I feel a bit lost now without a huge quilt to sit and stitch when I fancy. You can see from below I've already got the fabric for my next project from Strawberry Fayre. And yet again it was great service - really fast. I've washed the fabric and now it needs a good press. I also need to make sure I think about how the cut the fabric so I don't end up with lots of bits. The larger pieces I'll piece to make the back.

Finished!!!

As you can see I did have some 'help' with my 'Sunburst' quilt. Fluff decided one evening that it was hers and no-one else was going to get near it. As you can see it's done - and I feel a bit sad because I thought it would take longer and I've got nothing to hand quilt. But unlike the last HUGE one this one measure approximately 61 x 50 inches. It was machine pieced and hand quilted in the ditch with YLI variegated thread - called Sunset... I'm really pleased with how it's turned out. Thanks to all of you for the good wishes you sent for both my birthday and anniversary. DH is now very keen to read any comments on the blog as he seems to think they're all going to be about him. LOL . Thanks
