Autumn...

Well - autumn has finally arrived.
That means I need to make a quilt so I can snuggle under it in the evenings ,hand quilting it to keep me warm.
My Walk series has hit a creativity block, well I think most of my creativity has.
Work really does get in the way. But I do have something new coming up that I'm sure will help to re-spark my creativity.
I'll be sure to share this you all.

I did attend a really interesting talk at the Lutterworth Embroiderers Guild by
Karen Parry from John James.
One of the most interesting parts of her talk was explaining the different needles and their uses.
We also had the opportunity to buy some of the needles she'd explained to us - remembering that we all need to change them more often.

It was very interesting and useful talk - so if you have the chance do attend.
Hope you've managed to attend a fireworks display. I went to the LOROS event at Mallory Park.  I must say it was one of the next displays I've seen in some time.
Take care and hope to see you soon.

Outstanding Projects

Do you remember when this... became this? Well - It's time to get it finished.  This is my next project.  I intend to hand quilt kit with big black stitches. I always like to have a hand quilting project.
Last night I went to the Lutterworth Embroiderers Guild talk.  It was a great talk from Gizella K Warburton.  She shared her work with us - both textile work and photographs.  I really enjoyed seeing both.  Do have a look at her work.  It's abstract and uses some great fabrics which give the feel of the countryside.  These images give you a hint at the work Gizella produces. I hope to make progress with a few things this weekend and I'll post about it next week. Have a great weekend.

Stamping and printing with me at Quilteez

The class will be on Saturday 18th November in Ratby organised by Quilteez. I hope those of you who expressed an interest will be able to come - I'm really excited about meeting you all.
In addition, this Saturday 9th September I'll be demonstrating at the Region 10 Area Day in Gotham. Here are some details for you:
Venue - Gotham Memorial Hall - it has lots of parking 10 - 4 Faith lunch Speaker: Gail Lawther Me demonstrating Sales - Quilteez
I'll also be bringing along my quilt 'Postcodes' that was exhibited at Festival of Quilts in the 'In the Spotlight' exhibition. And I'll have some samples made during the process. Hope to see you soon.
Hello all, Apologies to you for the gap between posts.  I've been a little preoccupied with getting our bathroom sorted. It's amazing how you can have work done in one room of the house and the rest of the house turns into absolute chaos. And why has everything started to break, microwave, washing machine, kettle...  Anyway - as I keep being reminded it has to get worse before it gets better!
Our little kittens are growing fast - they are quite leggy now and still very fast. I'll try to get a photo of them. It will have to be when they're asleep.
On the sewing front I'm still working on my NYB swap. I'm making progress but the deadline is a little nearer than I'd like. Tomorrow I hope to be able to make some more progress with the NYB without my little helpers.
An exciting development has also been happening. I've been teaching at Coles in Nottingham. They have a really well laid out spacious first floor room for classes.  It has a lift so anyone with mobilit…
