 Hello all,
I hope you're making the most of the sunshine.  I'm off out for a walk after this post.
I've really been enjoying my sewing recently and thought you might like to see a few things I've been up to.
So here are the 4 sides of a house I've made inspired by an article in Quilting Arts December 2013 and January 2014 edition.
I'm really pleased with the results.

I'm really pleased with this piece.  It's combined a number of techniques: screen printing, machine and hand embroidery using sheers.  I had great fun with this and am very pleased I have a couple of other pieces to use.

I'm making reasonable progress with my crewel embroidery and have really surprised myself with my ability.

And finally here are a couple of examples from Angie Hughes talk at the Leamington Embroiderers Guild talk.  Unfortunately I could make the class, but I'm sure those who did had a great time.  The talk was very inspiring and I came home with my head buzzing with ideas.
Talk care all and make the most of the sunshine!

Hi Sarah

You would certainly have enjoyed Angie's workshop. We had a really productive day - good outcomes and a lot of fun.

I do like your crewel work - what is the design?

See you soon,
Janet

Dennis...

...well unfortunately Dennis died last month. Although we were very upset at the time we realise he had a very happy long life (18 years) and he spent his last day in the garden sunning himself . Everyone who came to the house met him - whether they wanted to or not; he was very friendly . So here are a last few photos of him looking like the fat happy orange cat that he was...

How exciting

Hello all. I had a very nice e-mail yesterday telling me I was in October's British Patchwork & Quilting magazine as their featured blog of the month. And yes I'm there on page 68. A very nice surprise as I had no idea my little old blog would make a national publication. So if any of you are looking at my blog for the first time please do leave a comment - I'd love to hear from you.
